Located in Lyndhurst, NJ, Stitch Witch Me is a creative business dedicated to unusual art. The business was created by Nancy Dello Monaco, an artist who crafts unique rag dolls from recycled fabrics. The dolls have two sides with a different expression on each. They are a wonderful gift for any occasion and are definitely not your Momma’s Rag Dolls.
For several years, she worked as a Machine Quilter and is fascinated by color and the textures of fabric. After making several T-shirt quilts, she was disheartened by the waste of the leftover fabric. When reading a story about farmhouse quilts, she came across the phrase, “Take what you have and make what you need”, and so changed her approach to creating. She combined her love of Fairy tale witch stories, Edward Gory, and Tim Burton and built her brand Stitch Witch Me.
Now Nancy works with bits and pieces of unwanted fabrics, and like a witch in an old story, she puts them together and creates her beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations. Her dolls have been sold throughout the tristate area and a few have even made their way to California and to South Africa.
