The Eclectic Chic Boutique was featured in the news! Learn more about our mitigation efforts against COVID-19. The Eclectic Chic Boutique was featured in the news! A recent editorial piece by the Montclair Local talked about how local businesses are adapting to the pandemic, and our very own boutique was also highlighted along the way. Click here to read the full article or keep scrolling for more details about our mitigation efforts against the spread of COVID-19. 1. Curbside Pickup and Delivery To make online shopping hassle-free, we also introduced curbside pickup and delivery in Montclair. Customers could choose products online and schedule them for pickup or call us, and we would have them ready for pickup. This helped us fulfill the needs of our existing customers while ensuring local safety guidelines were met. 2. Enhanced Website Experience With non-essential stores shut down as the pandemic surged on, one of the first things our team did was to focus on ways to enhance online traffic. We began to work on updating our website with the latest products and making navigation easier. With a user-friendly website, customers are able to find the products they want more easily and quickly. While working on our website and social media, we realized that the demand for handmade products was quite high and that we could expand our reach even outside of New Jersey. The best part about going online is that you’re no longer limited by geographical boundaries. 3. Virtual Shopping Tours When it comes to handmade, small-batch products, the experience of buying the product is highly important. Customers often want to learn about the artisan behind the product, the elements that went into its design, and various other product specifications. With small-bath products, putting all this information online is more complex compared to its mass-produced counterparts. To help create seamless customer experiences and work with new customers outside of New Jersey, we introduced virtual shopping tours for clients. Customers can set up an appointment and choose the number of categories they want to browse. They are then paired up with a shopping assistant via Zoom who can guide shoppers through the products and offer great discounts too. 4. Online Craft Classes Apart from promoting local crafts, our mission is to empower up-and-coming artisans with education and skills. That’s why we’ve introduced online classes on a wide range of topics such as sewing, baking, candle making, soap making, and many more. These classes are designed to help entrepreneurs hone their skills and learn from experts. Our beginner-level courses are designed for anyone interested in handmade products and crafts. Our talented team also offers seasonal classes such as Easter Cookie decoration to engage both adults and teens who’re looking to get into the spirit of Easter. Interested viewers can participate in the classes by booking a space online. All courses are conducted via Zoom so participants can enjoy them safely from within the comfort of their homes. Final Thoughts Although the restrictions surrounding the pandemic have eased considerably since the start of 2020, the reinvention is here to stay. We’re committed to our local business community and will continue to look into ways to promote local artisans and entrepreneurs.
