Throwback Thursday - Backyard FunFest 2016

On July 23rd 2016, The Eclectic Chic Boutique and the Sutton family worked together to raise money for Sharron Miller's Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA) Ella Bandes Alumi Scholorship. The event was called Backyard FunFest, and included a fundraising yard sale and craft show, refreshments, and an outdoor concert and comedy show. 

Over $1,000 was raised, that meant one student from Paterson's Rosa L. Parks School of Fine & Performing Arts​ would be able to attend SMAPA's Dance Intensive course for 3 full weeks!

​SMAPA's Dance Intensive summer program is 3 weeks of intermediate and advanced dance classes, choreography workshops, and a performance during the final week.

​About the The Ella Bandes Alumni Scholarship

Ella Bandes, who passed away in 2013, was a founding member of Sharron Miller’s Performance Workshop Ensemble. This scholarship fund commemorates her legacy by aiding dancers in their training.

​The money raised at this event was used to help fund this scholarship program, which will help students attend dance camps, provide new equipment and training, and enrich the lives of these kids.
